You Do Have A Say

If It looks Wrong It Probably Is.

Public Law 95-85 is a law that all that all people of Kentucky need to read.

"When SMCRA was enacted, it created many avenues for citizens' involvement. Thus, individual citizens have a statutory role in practically every phase of the surface mining program, from permit issuance to bond release. Since SMCRA was enacted in 1977, coalfield citizens have used those rights to help shape virtually all of the policies and programs that govern surface coal mining and reclamation in America."

'Here for the Long Haul' is part of the GONE MOUNTAIN feature film project currently being developed. "A big-city songwriter returns home to West Virginia to help his beloved Granny to save their home and mountain from a big coal company hell-bent on completing another mountain top removal project. Snake Coldiron had left his mountain home to find his musical voice, but ends up becoming the man he had left home to be."

It is intended with this film to bring greater awareness about the ravages of mountain top removal, and, to promote cleaner, alternative energies that will strengthen America's independence so every citizen can realize their potential to do good things for this world.

    Here For The Long Haul
    C. 2011, Joseph Gorman, B.M.I.

    Verse:
    Ol' King Coal
    Owns the land
    Below ground
    Above the law
    Ma and Pa
Raised me to rise up, I'm
    Here for the long haul

    Chorus:
    Here for the long haul
    Mountain mist
    Water fall
I will fight for my mountain
    To stand tall, I'm
    Here for the long haul

    Verse:
    Dragline scalp
    mountaintop
    Soil and trees
    into its craw
    Seek solace
    In children's faces, I'm
    Here for the long haul

    Chorus:
    Here for the long haul
    Countin' fists
    At highwall
I will fight for my mountain
    To stand tall, I'm
    Here for the long haul

    Bridge:
They will never break my history or take my pride
Bury my bones on a mountainside
    Fight for my mountain
I will fight for my mountain, I'm
    Here for the long haul
